Summary:

I’ll always do my best to fulfill your needs and meet your expectations, but it’s important to have things written down so that we both know what’s what, who should do what and when, and what will happen if something goes wrong. In this contract you won’t find any complicated legal terms or long passages of unreadable text. I’ve no desire to trick you into agreeing to something that you might later regret. What I do want is what’s best for both parties, now and in the future.

So in short;
You are hiring me (LSB Web Design) to provide you with SEO services, for the price as outlined in my proposal you received during our previous correspondence. Of course it’s a little more complicated, but we’ll get to that.

What do both parties agree to do?

You: You have the authority to enter into this agreement on behalf of yourself, your company or your organisation. You’ll do your best to provide me with access to what I need in order to complete the work in full.

Me: I have the experience and ability to do everything I’ve agreed with you and I’ll do it all in a professional and timely manner. I’ll endeavour to meet every deadline that’s set and on top of that I’ll maintain the confidentiality of everything you give me.

Search Engine Policies

You acknowledge that I have has no control over the change of search engine policies or algorithm changes. At any time, your website may lose rankings or be excluded from any search engine at the sole discretion of the search engine.

Search Engine Rankings

I have no direct control over your websites search engines rankings. I will attempt to improve and maintain them by providing you with SEO services, but there is never any guarantee of improved rankings.

Contract Length

No one likes being tied into long contracts, that’s why all of my SEO services are provided on a month by month basis. If you wish to cancel your contract with me then all I require is 30 days notice. I recommend sticking with any SEO services for a minimum of 6 months before measuring it’s impact.

Sustainable SEO is not a short term plan and to get the most out of it you need to stick with it. A lot of SEO companies will sacrifice the sustainability of your site in search of short term gains, this ultimately leaves you worse off that when you started, but by the time you find out they are long gone and you’re left dealing with the aftermath on you’re own. I focus on sustainable practices so you can rest assured your site is in good hands.

SEO Package Upgrade

I typically recommend all clients to start with my smallest SEO package and then to upgrade later down the line once you start seeing results. I may suggest you upgrade your SEO package with me at any point, my recommendations will be based on the size of your site and the package I feel will yield the greatest return on investment for you.

Alteration to Terms of Service

I can alter these terms and conditions at any time and you will be notified of any changes.

Legal stuff

I can’t guarantee that my work will be error-free and so I can’t be liable to you or any third-party for damages, including lost profits, lost savings or other incidental, consequential or special damages, even if you’ve advised me of them. Finally, if any provision of this contract shall be unlawful, void, or for any reason unenforceable, then that provision shall be deemed severable from this contract and shall not affect the validity and enforceability of any remaining provisions.

Payments

I’m sure you understand how important it is as a business that you pay the invoices that I send you promptly. As I’m also sure you’ll want to stay friends, you agree to stick tight to the 30 day payment terms for invoices you may be issued.

But where’s all the horrible small print?

Just like a parking ticket, you can’t transfer this contract to anyone else without my permission. This contract stays in place and need not be renewed. If for some reason one part of this contract becomes invalid or unenforceable, the remaining parts of it remain in place.

Although the language is simple, the intentions are serious and this contract is a legal document under exclusive jurisdiction of English and Welsh courts.
